New Scodix S-Digital Press makes ‘SENSE’ for BrunelPrint

BrunelPrint has purchased a Scodix S-Digital Press as part of its investment in creating a centre outside of London for state-of-the-art printing technologies & high quality finishing.

The Scodix SENSE is leader of the pack when it comes to tactile print and is being hailed as a ‘breakthrough digital enhancement printing experience’ to create ‘eye-catching, memorable experiences’. The Scodix S Series presses achieve this using Scodix’s proprietary PolySENSE clear polymer, which is capable of 99 Gloss Units (GU) – the highest gloss available for printed materials.

It can also provide up to 250 microns in polymer height – 100 times higher than selective varnish and an unlimited variety of densities. The Scodix SENSE also uses a special ‘Lens Effect’ to make colours stand out and can provide an unlimited variety of metallic colours in a single step from a standard CMYK process . Using an advanced two camera CCD system it can also scan every sheet and deliver the PolySENSE to its exact location with pinpoint accuracy.

Commenting on the purchase, John Tugman, commercial print director, BrunelPrint said: “Not only can our new Scodix SENSE press provide our customers with exceptionally high quality print and a huge range of finishes, it is also a master of personalisation. This was a key factor in our decision to purchase with marketing campaigns becoming increasingly centred around one-to-one engagement.

“Through its advanced digital capabilities the Scodix SENSE also supports both variable data and barcode campaigns.  Through our investment we are now able to offer creative agencies & direct clients really top-end personalised printing, which is ideal for those working with luxury & high quality brands.”

Mark Nixon, Scodix’s UK Distributor added; “We are delighted that BrunelPrint has decided to make the investment in one of our new SENSE presses. We are confident in the huge opportunity this new technology will afford commercial printers like BrunelPrint. Both in terms of keeping existing customers excited about print and also attracting new ones.

“With high ambitions for its new Scodix SENSE we are looking forward to seeing our technology come to life through the innovative campaigns BrunelPrint & its clients produce.”

In line with BrunelPrint’s own environmental responsibility policies, the Scodix SENSE runs on clean, green processes that reduce energy consumption, with the printed materials it produces non-toxic and recyclable.
